Parking

 

Parking on campus is limited. Visitor parking payments are contactless and managed through a digital payment system called ParkMobile, which can be used on most smartphones or tablets.


Please be sure to leave yourself enough time before the event to download the app and make the payment - you can save time on the day of the event by setting up a ParkMobile account and entering your information in advance.

The closest visitor parking to Cantor Art Museum is located in front of the museum on Lomita Drive (ParkMobile Zone #7211), and the Roth Way Parking Garage around the corner (ParkMobile Zone #7201).

Getting to Stanford

​

Public Transportation

For those of you wishing to use public transportation, Stanford offers a convenient and complimentary shuttle service known as the Marguerite Shuttle between campus and the Palo Alto Caltrain Station /Palo Alto Transit Center  (VTA & SamTrans). Both the "X" and "SE" have stops close to Cantor Arts Center. 
 

Driving Directions

From Highway 101 North & South:
Take the Embarcadero Road exit west toward Stanford. At El Camino Real, Embarcadero turns into Galvez Street as it enters the university. Turn Right at Campus Drive; turn Left on Lomita Drive and the museum will be located on your right. You will see a giant "YO" sign in front that is hard to miss.

To park in the Roth Way Garage, continue on Campus Drive and turn left onto "Roth Way". The parking garage will be located to your left.  


From Highway 280 North & South:
Exit 280 at Alpine Road, turning east (away from Portola Valley, toward Menlo Park.) Make a right turn onto Junipero Serra Boulevard. Turn Left at the first stoplight, Campus Drive West (across from the golf course
driveway). At the traffic circle, continue straight to stay on Campus Drive and turn right onto Roth Way
. The museum and parking garage will be on your left.

From El Camino Real:
Exit El Camino Real at University Avenue. Turn toward the hills (away from the center of Palo Alto). As you
enter Stanford, University Avenue becomes Palm Drive. Go through one traffic light, and turn right onto Campus Drive at the first stop sign. Turn left on Lomita Drive, and the museum will be located on your right. You will see a giant "YO" sign in front that is hard to miss.

To park in the Roth Way Garage, continue on Campus Drive and turn left onto "Roth Way". The parking garage will be located to your left.

For those of you wishing to travel to Stanford using public transportation, we will provide a shuttle service between the Sheraton Palo Alto and our event. The Sheraton Palo Alto is conveniently located next to the Palo Alto Caltrain Station and the Palo Alto Transit Center  (VTA & SamTrans).

PICKUP LOCATION: "Sheraton" sign in front of the hotel.

DROP-OFF LOCATION: Hewlett Teaching Center

 

The bus will depart from El Camino Real, in front of the Sheraton Palo Alto Hotel. There will be a “Sheraton” sign and a red “Interpreting a Changing Japan” sign at the stop (circled in red below). Sheraton hotel staff will be able to direct you.

EVENING SHUTTLE

 

PICKUP LOCATION: Hewlett Teaching Center

DROPOFF LOCATION: "Sheraton" sign in front of the hotel.

 

The bus will depart from the Marguerite stop near the Hewlett Teaching CenterThere will be a red “Interpreting a Changing Japan” sign at the stop.

* Please note that these are approximate pick-up times. It is best to arrive 5-10 before the listed time to ensure you are able to board.


Stanford also offers a convenient and complimentary shuttle service known as the Marguerite, which includes the "Shopping Express" route. This route operates hourly from 9 AM to 7:47 PM on Saturdays, connecting the Palo Alto Transit Center to the San Antonio Shopping Center by going through Stanford campus. This route makes several stops in close proximity to our event.

Stanford parking is free on Saturdays. The two closest parking structures to the Engineering Quad (Hewlett & Huang Buildings) are:

Note on GPS directions: Via Ortega is closed at Campus Drive due to construction so you must use Panama
Street to access either the parking structure or the parking lot.
